This was my Mom and Dad’s song back when they were dating…somewhere around 1956. They met via Dad’s cousin who had a thing for my Mom, who worked in a diner as a waitress at the time. He wanted to give Mom his picture but she wasn’t interested, but when he pulled out his photo he had one of his cousin (my Dad) and my Mom asked if she could have that one instead. He said “No” but eventually relented and gave her both his and my Dad’s photo. My Dad then walked into the diner one day and met Mom and came in for coffee a few times and then after leaving the diner one day, he called over and asked if he could walk my Mom home. She lived across the street, but she said “Maybe we can take the long way home.” She still has that photo. Miss you, Dad.
